Department of Political Science and Public Administration

About Us

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration began operations following the appointment of a dean after the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Adıyaman University on April 16, 2008. The department's regular teaching program was launched in the 2009-2010 academic year, while the second teaching program began in the 2010-2011 academic year.

Starting from the 2019-2020 academic year, student admissions to the second education program have been suspended, while student admissions to the regular education program continue. The name of the Public Administration department was changed to the Department of Political Science and Public Administration on May 18, 2021. The Thesis-Based Master's Program within the department was launched in the 2012-2013 academic year and continues its educational activities.

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration aims to train qualified managers who can play an active role in administrative and social life and analyze national and international developments. Our graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities, primarily in district governorship, administrative judiciary, and various levels of public bureaucracy. In addition, the comprehensive education provided by the department offers our graduates the opportunity to work in different areas in the private sector as well.
